Schwarzsee Tourismus Chronicle

In 1937 the "Freunde des Schwarzsees" association was founded with the aim of increasing the attractiveness of the region for the visitor.

In 1977 the general assembly agreed to rename the association "Verkehrsverein Schwarzsee, Plaffeien und Umgebung" - according to the wishes of the "Freiburger Tourismusverband" association.

In 1997 the "Tourismusverband Sense Oberland (TVSO)" association was founded cooperatively among the nine municipalities of "Sense Oberland" (Plaffeien, Zumholz, Oberschrot, Plasselb, Brünisried, Alterswil, Rechthalten, Giffers, Tentlingen).

The new tourism legislation of Kanton Fribourg is operative since 01/01/2007. The "Arbeitsgruppe Tourismus Senseland" team took care of the new situation in the Sense district and arranged substantial restructurings. The field of activity of the TVSO association has been extended to the whole Sense district. The "Verkehrsverein Schwarzsee" association received a mandate for managing the marketing of the district. It consequently adopted its current name "Schwarzsee Tourismus Senseland".

Following the new tourism legislation the tourist associations of Plasselb and Heitenried - St. Antoni furthermore cease to be recognized tourist organizations. In return Schwarzsee is recognized as one of the big tourist pools of the Kanton Fribourg.
